Archeia Praxis
Archeia Praxis
For single mums, at 5pm
Enjoy your kids again, even on the days you have nothing left.
It's 5pm. There's laundry on the couch, a coffee to get you to bedtime, and a small person asking you to play. You love them, and you're counting the minutes.
A break would help, and when you're doing this alone it rarely comes. The Archeia Method is gentle, body-based practice you do with your kids, in five minutes, in the middle of an ordinary afternoon. It's healing that happens with your kids, not away from them.

Who’s writing this
I’m Anna. Being a single mum was never my plan either.
I'm Anna, a holistic counsellor and a single mum raising my daughter on a farm in Yabberup, Western Australia. When my marriage ended I lost my home, my livelihood and the future I'd built. What brought me back wasn't time away from my daughter. It was what we did together.

If this is your week
You're doing every part of it, and there's no one to hand over to.
Touched out by 7pm. Some days by 11am. Fine at work, snapping at home. Guilt after you yell, then guilt about the guilt. Long, quiet evenings and no village. Twenty minutes to yourself, spent scrolling. You miss the mum you thought you'd be.
None of that means you're failing. It means your tank is empty, and everything you've been told will fill it needs time, money or another adult in the house.

A different way in
For the hours when no break is coming.
Breaks matter. Take every one you can get. This is for the rest of the time, which for most single mums is nearly all of it.
The Archeia Method is a set of small practices that settle your body while your child is right there with you. You don't need childcare, a quiet room or an hour. You need about five minutes and the afternoon you already have. Walking, dancing in the kitchen, bare feet on the grass, hanging the washing together. No pretend play required.
